Facebook Business Profile
Envigor now has a finished Facebook page, Twitter page, and Linkedin page. Through-out the creation process of building our Facebook page, I learned about many interesting ways to help promote a business on Facebook while adding some extra flare to your profile. For example, to help unify the Envigor brand, we have carried over our website design onto two custom Facebook tabs: “Who are we?” and “Recent Posts” (see image below). This not only allows us to display our brand across multiple sites, but it also is a fun way to keep people interested in Envigor by giving them something unique.
One of the best things about custom tabs is that there are many ways to add/create them for your profile and although you can’t add anything you want Facebook gives you a lot of creative freedom. You can add pre-built applications or you can install a “FBML” (like HTML but made for Facebook) application that allows you to add your own code, or you can even go as far as building your own custom application and placing it on your page. On Envigor’s profile we created our “Who are we?” with custom FBML and our “Recent Posts” is a custom built application that pulls our Blog posts from our website.
The next step for Envigor is to create a custom application that can be installed on personal profiles. This application will be used to help promote Envigor. More will be posted on this when this project is completed.

UPDATE: FBML is a thing of the past. Facebook now allows iFrames, which add a lot more flexibility on what your business page can do.
